*** HOT OFF THE PRESS (July 1, 2011): Barbara Swift, owner of Swift's Fine Jewelry has once again generously agreed to be our Diamond Sponsor and has donated a 1.05 carat Pear shape diamond pendant mounted in 14kt White Gold!!
The 2009 Gala raised approximately $10,000 and the 2011 event raised whopping $23,000! We are hoping to exceed that amount again this year as it takes about $16,000 a year to feed the current number of children the program is feeding which is about 46 a week. Part of the money raised also went to scholarship programs. The Garner Mid-Day Rotarty last year gave $5,000 in scholarships this to graduating seniors at Garner Magnet and Wake Christian Academy through an essay contest on the Four Way Test and Rotary Against Drugs.
